Cristin Atria is an American self-taught artist whose main subjects are drawn from the American south, ranging from life and architecture. However, she isn’t limited to the American south alone as she also represents other subjects of keen interest to her. Atria utilizes color to capture specific dimensions so as to portray her subjects in a more realistic way. Instead of simply capturing works from her memory or imaginations, she normally takes pictures of her subjects before replicating them in her paintings. Atria prefers to capture antique expression in her paintings, so she often picks monochromatic images then using oil paints to transform them into beautiful paintings.
