In Greek mythology, Gaia sent a huge scorpion to cause the untimely death of Orion, which explains why so many Framed Scorpio Art make a reference to it. The legends state that Artemis was the one who sent the scorpion to kill him after he bragged that he will kill all the animals on the planet. The mission was accomplished but Orion was elevated to heaven after his death and the same happened to the scorpion that killed him.
