Framed post impression art was done by only a handful of famous artists and each one of them brought their own style and flair to the art world.
Many of these fine pieces of work can still be seen in many places and are remain quite popular even after all the time that has passed.
Of the artists that were creating work during this period in art history; Vincent Van Gogh is the most well known and sought after. He created so many different works but, unfortunately it was upon his death that they became popular. Some of his finest framed works of art would be “A Starry Night”, “Almond Blossom”, “The Olive Trees”, “Skull”, and “Irises in the Garden.”
Other artist that gave us framed post impression paintings are Melissa Graves-Brown, Camille Pissarro, Paul Cezanne, and Paul Gauguin. Gauguin did two great pieces that were his claim to fame and they are “Landscape with Peacocks” which he painted in 1892 and “Landscape in Tahiti”. Melissa Graves-Brown’s most popular painting would definitely be “Beyond the Fields” with all its beautiful fall colors.
In 1878 Paul Cezanne painted a lovely piece titled “The Sea at I’Etaque” featuring a small village being looked upon through the trees. One of the most controversial paintings of this time period was a piece done by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec in 1894 titled “Woman Pulling Up Her Stocking.” This is a great piece that would be fitting for a dressing room or even a bathroom in most any home.
