Framed Funny Dog Art
Dogs are also called Man's Best Friend. As Man's Best Friend, dogs are also pictured in environments that are usually meant for humans. This can be in a bar, a cafe, salon, and so on. Man's Best Friend is a wonderful subject for framed funny dog art.
The first piece, a framed funny photograph of a dog, that we will look at is “Cafe Pug” by Jim Dratfield. There is a table. At this table is a smiling pug that is sitting in a heart-shaped chair. It is probably a girl because it is wearing a string of pearls around its neck, and has a cup of coffee in front of her. The whole photograph is given sepia-tone colours like an old photo, so it gives a timeless feel. It reminds the viewer of simpler times, or of interesting places they have taken their own dog.
“Dog About Town” by Ron Burns is a fun framed piece of funny dog art that is highly detailed. It appears to be an oil painting that is rendered in fun, bright colours. An interesting quirk of Burns' art is his use of blue shadows and many different colours in his work. The clean, shiny car gives off a 50's vibe, while the dog looking straight at the viewer increases the humour.
One very famous piece of stylized dog art is “The Hustler” by Arthur Sarnoff. It is very similar to “Dogs Playing Poker,” except that these dogs are playing a game of pool. Their facial expressions are very human and doglike at the same time. They are wearing hats and imitating humans. One is even holding a beer, making for a festive atmosphere.
