Cheryl Warrick is a Boston-based artist who’s best known for her quilt like and richly colored paintings that explore the journeys of wisdom. She paints from an intuitive process and she invents her landscapes from what she refers to as “internal knowing.” The artist has a feeling that people know these landscapes because they are rooted in people’s collective unconscious. Her mixed media art are layered with text, found papers and textures to create a feeling of deep space for those who view her art to travel through. When Cheryl is not in her studio painting, she can be found working as a freelance commercial artist. Her work can be found in several collections including, Rhode Island School of Design Museum of Art, Providence, RI, Museum Of Fine Arts, Boston, MA, The Boston Public Library, Boston, MA, Philadelphia Free Library, Philadelphia, PA, Fidelity Investments, Boston, MA, Lucent Technologies, New York, NY, Rose Art Museum, Waltham, MA Harpo Productions, Chicago, Il, and Embassy Suites Hotel, Philadelphia, PA. Cheryl includes proverbs, folk wisdom, landscapes and symbols in her work. Being a professional artist has not stopped her from seeking for more knowledge. Cheryl is open to learning and is a regular visitor to many galleries in the country. She also likes to surround herself with her fellow artists from whom she learns a lot. This has kept her art fresh and has increased their collectability – more so the framed Cheryl Warrick art. Her works invite the viewer to open doors and enjoy visual relationships in the paintings and discover their meaning.
