Russell Young (Born 1959) supports The Art Of Elysium, which was created in Los Angeles, California in August 1997 to bridge the gap between the hospitalized children and the artistic community by bringing in music, art, acting and many other artistic expressions to give patients an outlet to express themselves and to take their minds off their circumstance. He has been involved with many events and many of his pieces have been sold and the proceeds used for the benefit of charity work. Young is known for his silkscreen paintings of cultural icons that are done on a large-scale. He’s a British-American Pop artist who was born and raised in York, England. He’s a fan of Andy Warhol, the Pop Art pioneer, and he currently uses a Warhol press. Young works and lives between New York and California. He joined the Exeter College of Art and later the Chester Art College, where he studied drawing, graphic design, photography and film. He decided to move to London, where he worked as a photographer’s assistant, and this move afforded him a start by taking on commercial projects. He has exhibited in many places, including Bankrobber London, Collectors Contemporary, Galerie G. Hartinger Fine Arts, Vertes Modern Art Zurich, Taglialatella Galleries, Modern Masters Fine Art, Art Basel Miami Overture, Guy Hepner, Rolling Stones, Vertes Modern Art Zurich, Playboy Club, Goss Michael Foundation, Long-Sharp Gallery, Goss Michael Foundation, Art of Elysium, Saatchi Gallery, Russeck Gallery, and Robinsons Art Gallery, among others. These exhibitions have made his art to be very popular, more so the framed Russell Young art.
