Robin Hill (Born 1932) was born in Brisbane, Australia. He’s an artist and a writer. Hill writes on travel and nature and his works have appeared in various magazines and newspapers. He had a regular, illustrated column in the Melbourne Age newspaper for many years, and was a regular contributor to Cruising World magazine, for which he wrote about wildlife as well as his sailing experiences. A year after his birth, his father moved the family to England, and they lived there for 17 years. It was in England, during a boyhood of escaping to the out-of-doors from restrictive schools, that Hill developed a strong love for the natural world and the keen powers of observation. His artistic talent was also discovered by many who interacted with him and they encouraged him to take art as a career. Hill never disappointed. The influences of his childhood are so wonderfully mirrored in his detailed paintings of birds and other wildlife. He began his formal training early at the Wimbledon School of Art, and then later proceeded to the Royal Melbourne College and the Gallery of Art School. Hill also attended the National Chafing at the academic regimen. His passion for art combined with his academic background to enable him develop a style that was uniquely his own. This made his art to be easily recognizable among the works of other artists. It also made his art to be in great demand, more specifically the framed Robin Hill art. He worked hard to evolve the techniques and talent that enabled him to pursue his career as a bird painter.
