Per Karlsson started taking photos when he was a teenager. When he joined high school, he used to take a lot of pictures. He had a make-shift darkroom in the basement of his father’s house where he used to enlarge and develop his images. It worked so well. In the university, he started working in consulting and in business. Karlsson rarely touched a camera for many years. The family lived close to a shop where second-hand cameras were sold, and one day he went in and bought a used camera and began taking pictures seriously again. But it took him quite a while before this passion turned into a profession. When photography took root in his life, he had to quit a promising career as a top manager with a reputable international organization in order to become a full time photographer. He had a strong passion for the wine travel business and photography. His career as a photographer began just as one of many other activities that are involved in promoting the wine travel business. Karlsson is also a writer and his articles have appeared in many leading publications. It was something that didn’t come instantly, starting this current business around wine that he runs together with his wife. His wife was already doing much of what they do today; teaching, writing about wine and organizing wine tours. He started by helping her on the side. Today, framed Per Karlsson art are known globally. They are in many art stores and galleries.
