Artist Bruce Miller (Born in 1952) was born in Minneapolis. He’s a graduate of St. Cloud State University where he majored in art. Miler fell in love with art when he was given a set of acrylic paints for 7th grade art class. In the years that followed he painted exclusively in acrylics. However, in 1999 decided to switch to oil and attempted to paint in the impressionistic manner. This was after he was moved by some pieces of artwork that he saw at The Museum of Russian Art in Minneapolis. His work continues to evolve after four years of intense study. Miller studied color, composition, and value, and edges for the first time, from 2000-2004! Each morning, he would read from art books, and study the work of the artists that he admired. He continues to experiment with expressionistic techniques. And he continues to evolve as all art does. The first week of November, Miller teaches painting workshops and enjoys passing on his knowledge to others. In 1988, Miler won his first national contest, Artist of the Year Award, for the Michigan Wildlife Art Festival. Since then he has become one of the country’s most celebrated artists. In 1975, he returned to Minnesota to seriously pursue his art career. The artist experimented with a variety of genres including landscape, portraits, surrealism and abstract. Framed Bruce Miller art are today highly priced by many discerning artists because they are in great demand. Miller has won 23 conservation stamps including the Federal Duck Stamp and the Texas Duck Stamp. In 1999, he was named the Ducks Unlimited International Artist of the Year. His work has generated over $10 million for conservation.
