Charles-Francois Daubigny (Born 1817) was born in Paris. He was born in an artistic family. His father was a landscape painter, while his aunt and uncle were miniaturists. This made him to love art from a tender age because he was always surrounded by art materials. During most of his free times, the young boy could be found drawing painting and doodling using any material he could lay his hands on. He knew that he would become an artist. From 1838 on, he enjoyed much success at the Salons where he exhibited graphic art in the form of, woodcuts, etchings, illustrations and lithographs and this contributed immensely to his income. He painted in the forest of Fontainebleau which was and on the coast and along the rivers of northern France. Daubigny worked in many different manners and assimilated many sources. The Pond of Gylieu which he painted in1853 was very meticulous and balanced in execution, and was one of his most popular pictures. His other outstanding works are: Borde de la Cure, Morvan; Springtime in the Louvre; Return of the Flock; Moonlight; Villerville sur Mer; and Auvers-sur-Oise. Frame Charles-Francois Daubigny art was and still are popular to date. They come ready to hang with all the required accessories and are highly priced by many collectors. It was between 1864 and 1874 that his finest pictures were painted. When he liked his picture he had to add another duck or two, so many people assume that that the number of ducks in his pictures often indicates the artistic quality of the pictures.
