Charles Britt is an American artist known for his monochromatic images that include flowers, plants, among other items. He grew up in Thousand Oaks, California, and when he'd come of age, he signed up in U.S. Navy where he worked under the USS Mobile as the unit's electrician. Britt later joined Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara California from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, having studied Industrial Scientific Photography. Due to his artistic prowess, he secured a Karsh Fellowship scholarship. He followed it all through to his graduation before he moved to Canada where he worked with Yousuf Karsh for a two year period in Karsh's studio in Ottawa, Ontario. After the 2 years elapsed, he chose to stay and work for an additional 7 years, helping with studio related duties such as image processing, on location and on studio sitting. Britt decided to pursue photography more professionally after Karsh's studio closed down.
