Nicholas Bell’s photographs are widely published, held in corporate collections in the U.S. and in private collections across the globe. The primary focus of his work is to produce elegiac images that express a sense of focused connection with a moment in time. The photographer’s pursuit of art as a profession began in 2004 and in 2008 his work was exhibited publicly for the first time. Today Bell’s work is sold globally, shown regularly in fine art exhibits. He specializes in black-and-white and monochromatic color-toned work and is a self-taught photographer who grew up in Tampa, Florida. However, he has made Knoxville, Tennessee his home since 2007. His interest in photography began while he was on a journey through Europe with the United States Army. Photography for him has very much to do with time and his perception of passing time. The first day that he spent with a camera he discovered that it allowed him to slow down and live in the moment like nothing else matters. This was extremely important to him because he loves the idea of feeling present in time and not being consumed with what’s next moment. He searches for subjects and scenes that are pure and quiet because in these environments is where he feels creative and the most connected. His hope is that his images convey calmness and will allow his viewers to slow down and have a second look, and to be immersed completely and without distraction. Framed Nicholas Bell art are found in many art stores around the world.
