Framed Black History Art
In the second half of the 16th century, many Africans were captured and transported to the United States where they were sold as slaves. They struggled for hundreds of years to regain their freedom and their story is narrated by the framed black history posters up for sale at FramedArt.com.
Most of the current African Americans are descendents of those people who were held in captivity for more than 300 years, until the end of the American Civil War.
Over the course of time, African-Americans went by many names and some of them are no longer in use, due to their derogatory nature. Framed black history posters have a two-pronged effect, on one hand reminding people of the dark times, on the other celebrating the prominent figures that helped the community maintain its identity. The month of February is the time of the year when African-American history is usually celebrated in the United States and it is commonly referred to as Black history month.
The framed black history posters are focusing not only on historical figures, such as Martin Luther King, but also famous athletes and singers. The memorable moment of Jackie Robinson stealing base is fondly remember in artwork and the same goes for famous singers performing on stage. All these prints convey a message of reconciliation and harmony, as they try to bring in the spotlight the positive elements that are worth remembering and which could serve as a source of inspiration for future generations.
