Framed Grand Canal Paintings
The homes around the canal river, their windows lit up like so many fireflies. Romantic gondolas taking a couple around Italy. The canals of Venice. Italy is famous for its canals. The buildings are old, but the romance is always new. That's why they're featured in framed Grand Canal art.
“ Il Gran Canale di Notte” by Alan Blaustein is a framed photograph of the Grand Canal. It is in black-and-white, and portrays the residences from the boats' point of view. The houses are old, which is shown by their 16th-Century curved windows and ancient Rome-inspired architecture. The gondolas are old, lying in wait for their owners to push them off the shore. The picture is peaceful.
“The Grand Canal” by Curt Walters is an older framed painting of the Grand Canal that appears to have been done in oil paints. Above are cloudy skies, with a single hole peeking through the clouds like a window. Below is the city, which lies on a curve. There is one ancient domed building, appearing like the Pantheon among the smaller buildings. On the water are two gondolas, moving lazily along. The painting is happy, and portrays a slow day.
