Farida Zaman is a freelance artist who creates art and design with a passion. She has been painting and drawing for as long as she can remember and consider herself really fortunate that she gets to do what she loves for a living. The influence of living in many different countries while growing up reflects in her work. Farida was lucky enough to study in some of the best art schools in London - Wimbledon School of Art and Chelsea School of Art in London. She launched herself in the world of freelancing in illustration in London and Geneva before she moved to North America. Her work applies to many areas in the industry- i.e. editorial and fine art, packaging, giftware licensing, surface design, and children’s book illustrations. Her style is colorful, upbeat, whimsical, and lively, with the hopes that it makes her audience as happy as she is creating them. Her medium is collage, acrylics, inks, and watercolor, often enhanced in Photoshop. When she’s not busy creating commercial work she relaxes into painting abstract florals and abstract. This practice she says is a liberating escape from the bindings of illustration work that requires her to follow strict briefs. She’s available for freelance and licensing work. Much to her delight her limited edition prints were exhibited and sold in New York City at the American Craft Museum. Her work has also been exhibited at public galleries and private shows in New Jersey, New York City, and Toronto. These exhibitions have made framed Farida Zaman art to be very popular.
