Richard Wallich is an American impressionist who knew he wanted to become a painter by the time he was 11 years old. He likes colors and their use is very personal to him. Painting with lots of colors brings him joy and satisfaction. Wallich first tried realism, but realized it was consuming too much of his time. He therefore switched to impressionism, which could allow him to paint spontaneously and quickly. He quickly adopted the impressionistic approach and started using palette knife, which he has since enhanced and refined over the years. Today, Wallich uses emotion evoking vibrant colors to create dazzling array of brightly-colored images. He studied art in Eastern Illinois University after studying the same in high school. After graduation, he went ahead to study figure drawing at the American Academy of Art in Chicago. He then went to work as a graphic designer but still had the dream to become a painter. Wallish later moved to Rhode Island where he took part in several large art fairs. He was lucky to have a father in law who appreciated his artwork and eve helped him in selling some of them. From Rhode Island, Wallish moved to San Diego and continued with his artwork. Here, he did several commissions while working as a commercial artist. His paintings are currently found all over the world in several formats including ready to mount framed Richard Wallish art. He also has several designs that are available for licensing and also does custom design artwork.
