Amalia Veralli has called Vermont her home for more than 3 decades. A native New Yorker, her photographic journey includes study at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, the University of Vermont and several private studies and workshops. Amalia began exploring photography while on a trip to Europe. That was while she was working for a student travel organization. Originally, she focused on black-and-white photography and printmaking in her darkroom. For almost 30 years, she owned and operated Warren Pottery, retiring in July 2005 to pursue a career as a professional fine art photographer. She worked for several years successfully as a potter working with black-and-white photography. She later turned her creative energies to the art of color photography. She has gained recognition in the world of photography. Her macro images are part of the décor in the hospitality suites at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas; and the Pottery Barn’s Art to Collect site features several of her images as framed Amalia Veralli art limited edition, signed giclee prints. Her work is published by Image Conscious as canvas prints and posters. Her work is in many public and private collections. She has an eye for form and color, and is good at using them to bring a perfect balance to her compositions. She photographs her subjects from nature, focusing on one part of a leaf, a flower, or an ice crystal. This has allowed her to explore the depth and complexity of the form she’s photographing.
