Tony Stromberg is an American photographer. He graduated from high school and college before working in the advertising field. Stromberg is internationally known for his unique ability to capture the true beauty, power and spirit of the horse through photography. He is a master at bringing out the true essence of horses, both domestic and wild. Stromberg also does private assignments and teaches equine photography workshops at various locations throughout the world. He has had three books of his work published, The Forgotten Horse, Spirit Horses, and Horse Medicine. The latter is available in both bookstores and online. He loves to document the magical dance of relationship that develops between humans and horses. Stromberg is now one of the leading nature and horse photographers of the century. He now has his own studio in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and enjoys riding and spending time with horses. At the turn of the 21st Century, Stromberg switched from commercial photography to nature photography. He has shot advertising campaigns for companies such as Wells Fargo and Apple over the last 20 years of his career. He quit his job then moved to New Mexico and began documenting horses. Stromberg believes in creating images that evoke feelings in the viewer. He experiments with light and shading, creating photos which make ordinary horses look like things from another world. He often takes pictures of specific horses, and also incorporates human figures into his canvases. Additionally, to allow him to capture the untamed and wild spirit of the animals, he often chooses to photograph his subjects in the wild instead of posed positions. Quite a number of framed Tony Stromberg art can be found in leading galleries throughout the world.
