Bill Saunders (born 1948) is an artist who started painting at the age of 12, although he started sketching at the tender age of 4. He was born in Montreal, Quebec, as Willam J. Saunders. It’s during his early life that he got into love with Quebec scenery. To strengthen his artistic skills, Saunders proceeded to Concordia University in Montreal from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. For several years, he worked as a draftsman, an influence that apparently brings the finer details in his art. Although he painted for several years as a hobby, 1977 became his turning point, opting to start painting professionally. To date his paintings are inspired by the farmlands of Ontario and Quebec. He captures images of old farmhouses located along lonely country roads, with trees and a host of other plants. Some of his other subjects would also include lonely lakes located amidst hills and mountains and a host of natural countryside scenes. While these scenes could be fast fading away because of human activities, Saunders does his best to preserve them through his paintings. Even as he does so, he still hopes that these scenes are conserved for the posterity.
Although Saunders started painting using oils, he uses acrylics and takes the realistic style approach in creating all his works. To get the most realistic results, he captures even the smallest of details. He has a wide network with numerous galleries, where his art can be found. Saunders’ works are in galleries across Canada and other U.S. states such as Illinois, Minnesota, Connecticut, and Colorado. Framed Bill Saunders art is also available for users seeking to purchase ready to hang art.
