Ron Miller became a commercial advertising illustrator, a free-lance illustrator and an art director for the Albert Einstein Planetarium of National Air & Space Museum before in 1977 when he became a free-lance illustrator. Today he’s an author and illustrator and lives in South Boston. He has written several novels, including fantasy novels such as Mermaids & Meteors, Hearts and Armor, Silk and Steel and Palaces and Prisons, which won ForeWord magazine’s Silver Award for best fiction. His primary work involves the writing and illustration of books specializing in science fiction, astronautical and astronomical subjects. Miller is interested in exciting young people and artists about science. Miller is represented by Stocktrek Images, a leading stock photo agency which brings together highly qualified professional photographers from around the world. His art has found its way into many homes, museums, institutions and public spaces. They are particularly liked by those who are interested in the sciences, and that explains why framed Ron Miller art are found in many institutions. His art has also appeared on many book interiors, book jackets and in magazines such as Reader's Digest, National Geographic, Smithsonian, Scientific American, Sky & Telescope, Air & Space, Natural History, Newsweek, Geo, Discover, among others. He has written more than fifty books to date. Miller is a member of the International Academy of Astronautics, an editor for Air & Space magazine, a Fellow and Life Member, and former Trustee of the International Association for the Astronomical Arts, a Member of the North American Jules Verne Society, an Honorary Member of the Society of Jules Verne, and a Fellow of the British Interplanetary Society.
