Janelle Penner resides in British Columbia, Canada. Her artistic journey began early in life and she was inspired by the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. She loved anything with an artistic flare, be it three dimensional or two dimensional arts. Her inspiration came from every art form; from advertising to the early masters, to modern day graphics. Her dream was to become an artist and she knew she had to work hard to achieve this dream. Janelle has been able to put to good use her talent in the work she does currently. She’s primarily a self-taught artist and has developed her own style of painting. Her work has led her to a state that she now feels more comfortable with life. Framed Janelle Penner art can be found in several prestigious collections worldwide. She’s excited, thoughtful and challenged. She studies dutifully the aspects of color, shape, form, light and texture, and uses these artistic elements to bring perfect balance to her compositions. She uses many tools when she paints - sometimes a scraper, or a palette knife, her hands or even brush. While painting, the hours she spends in the studio seem to fly by because she loves what she’s doing. Where she resides, she’s surrounded by a small forest of houseplants that provide her with a great source of inspiration. Many who purchase her art do so because they are inspiring. Being a mixed media artist, she spills herself onto her canvas in form and color, and has experimented with various mediums.
