Norm Olson Wall Art

Norm Olson loved art from childhood and he was lucky to marry a woman, Charlene Winterle, who is also an artist. The two are both full-time artists. They also receive royalties from a publisher that manufactures their art into prints sold worldwide in department stores. Norm Olson was born in Chicago, IL, and attended Florida State University on a football scholarship. While pursuing art at the university, he coached track football, and wrestling for a number of years as a sideline. He obtained his BA and Masters of Fine Art before starting serious work in art. Art became Olson’s career twenty 28 ago and he has been successful with his artwork ever since. He lives and works in Athens, GA, with his artist wife. While he has worked in many different media, his current work is in abstract collage, with pastel, acrylic and oil paint. He paints emotional and very expressive scenes inspired by the landscape. In some of his paintings, a viewer can easily sense the faint outline of trees, glowing golden and soft or misty and faint blue. In other landscapes one can glean contemplative skies and sprays of water while gazing upon his ethereal scenes. But in most cases, the pieces are the pure imagination, at once meditative and joyous. Olson and his wife fell in love with Athens saying that everything from the food, art, music and restaurants are pleasant.
