Marc Ward was born and raised in Central Florida, but in the 1970s, he decided to move to East Tennessee. This was after the astonishing invasion of "Mickey", a giant, 3-fingered cartoon rodent. While in Tennessee, he earned the Bachelor of Studio Arts degree, a very lucrative and much prized degree. Currently, he lives in East Tennessee with her beautiful wife, Kathy in a funky, cool house on a large lake. His wife helps in managing their art gallery, and the couple services 3 alarmingly lazy and large cats… and they feel that life’s good. During his college years, Ward bought a camera to shoot his three-dimensional and two-dimensional artwork. His roommate, who was a newspaper editor, saw him with the camera and enlisted him to be the photographer for the college newspaper. He says it was a make-fun-of kind of thing. His first incursions into the darkroom were to take baby’s bodies and put student's heads onto them. This is how he got hooked to photography. Ward believes in the words of Groucho Marx, who said that “the world has no boundaries for those who have no marketable skills.” He never knew that he would become a photographer, because even his first contact with photography was not some great artistic mission. It was just a satiric assignment that he just executed casually. To this day he still makes images and sells them as framed Marc Ward art. His art is also available in online stores. The awards he has received include Honorable Mentions, Nature Photographers Network award, Annual International Photography Master’s Cup award, National Association of Photoshop Professionals, among others.
