Photographer, Frank Krahmer (Born 1961) was born in Germany in Bad Toelz. He was attracted by art and nature from childhood. He was always catching small amphibians and insects. After an encounter with watercolor painting he changed the brush for a camera and started what he wanted to take photos. He was always fascinated by the work of artistic photographers like Frans Lanting and Art Wolfe. Initially he produced images of low quality, but after comparing his results with the best nature photography, he decided to improve his skills and he moved from documentary to artistic driven photography. After mainly working on wildlife he moved more to landscapes. Krahmer loves the northern countries like Greenland and Iceland, the romantic Tuscany and the coasts of Brittany. For wildlife he likes to visit the Camargue and northern shorebird colonies with its magnificent flamingos. He studied Information Technology and after completing his studies, he worked in software development for some years. In 1987, he started nature photography as a hobby. Today he travels all continents regularly to catch spectacular light scenes on wild landscapes - from the Australian to the Sahara deserts and from Arctic to Antarctica. Some of his best images were awarded the Agfa Wildlife Award, in BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year, and GDT. Krahmer works with natural light to catch the images, and he doesn’t carry flashes. Ready to hang Frank Krahmer art are very popular with many collectors who have placed a very high price tag on them because they are in great demand.
