Keren Su is a culture explorer, painter, adventurer, mountain guide and photographer. He’s a self-taught Chinese artist who is a living proof of the Chinese saying that “one must travel 1000s of miles and read 1000s of books before speaking with the weight of authority.” He worked as a mountain guide for the China Mountaineering Association during which time he guided many climbing and trekking teams to the Pamir Plateau, K2, Mt. Everest and many remote areas in China. He’s known for three firsts in China: he is the first person to motorbike around China, to ride a one-gear bicycle across China, and to raft with an inner tube raft (self-made) down the world's longest interior river, the Tarim River. Keren worked for the Peace Expedition to Mt. Everest that took place in 1990 and was named the coordinator because of his extensive mountaineering experience. He’s also known for his painting talents and was encouraged in the arts since his childhood. He first learned calligraphy before he learned how to paint. His art has been exhibited widely through out the U.S. He currently he lives in the Seattle and devotes most of his time to painting, photography, and putting together his China’s "special tours." He’s represented by both Danita Delimont and China Span. Both are photo stock agencies that specialize in high quality photos. China Span also organizes intimate cultural and photography tours to China and other countries. These have made the ready to hang framed Keren Su art to be very popular.
