Since his childhood, Ken Crawford has been using telescopes. In fact, he began pointing telescopes toward the night sky at 8th grade. He has developed a unique process that he uses to produce highly textural works with details that help convey his inner feelings about his subject matter. This has made his art, especially the framed Ken Crawford art, to find their way into many museums, galleries, institutions and homes. His art are often seen in leading art publications. He married his wife and high school girlfriend in 1978 and the couple moved to Northern California at the foothills where Crawford found and fell in love with the dark skies. In 2002 He built his Observatory called Rancho Del Sol and started capturing images of the deep sky. His art are in great demand all over the world. That’s because many of them come ready to hang and are durable. Meaning they can be used for decorative purposes for a lifetime. Crawford loves the colors and the vast variety of subject matters that the sky provides He particularly loves the mediums, endless styles and stories hidden in the sky. Most of her art training came through travel and visiting museums and galleries throughout Northern California. He became one of the chief founders of The Advanced Imaging Conference, Inc. The AIC, Inc still engage him as Chairman of the board. In 2015 he was the recipient of Hubble Award, and in 2008, he was invited to sit on the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) advisory committee of “Astronomy Picture of the Day."
