Michael Hudson was born on 14th June 1977. He always had the urge to create from a young age. In 1999, he was introduced to glass while attending Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He received a B.F.A in Art and Design with a specialization in glass. After graduating in 2003, he moved back to Louisville, Kentucky, and helped to start the glass program in the University of Louisville. In 2007, he founded his studio known as “Hudson Glass” where he strives to bring design elements and nature together in creating stunning glass objects.
Michael got his start in the world of professional photography in the late 1980s when he photographed Princess Diana and the British Royal Family. That experience taught him how to work in difficult situations, think fast, compose quickly, and to be patient. Michael tries in his photography to move people emotionally and inspire them with wonder and beauty. If there's a theme that runs through his photographs, it's the theme of Beauty. Sometimes that effect is achieved through a large print of an epic scene, while at some other times is it achieved through small images of roses or trees.
Michael often looks for large, bold areas of color in his prints. Just recently he started out using black and white film almost exclusively because color printing was difficult to do correctly and was also expensive. Today though, many of his images use the color he finds in nature. He still shoots his color images selectively, thanks to his 'upbringing' in black and white. Many galleries mainly avail ready to mount framed Michael Hudson art.
