Carol Grigg is an artist who grew up in Oregon where she still lives to date. She draws her inspiration from primitive art and nature. She got married while she was very young and moved to southern Oregon in a remote area where she created a home in a cabin. She shared her property with deer, mountain lion, bear, poachers and hunters. Carol explores a variety of creative forms; oil, watercolor collage, inks, clay, poetry and music - anything she can easily and quickly get her hands on. Carol keeps her painting techniques secret. She discovered her own methods because she was un-indoctrinated and uneducated. She’s influenced by primitive art, especially from the earliest cave paintings. Carol has drawn on the art of primitive cultures, of early Eastern cultures and prehistoric man when art reflected a more profound relationship between beast, earth and man. The images she brings forth create a suspended moment in which one might rest and are surrounded by space. In this she’d wish for the ideas of intuition, ecstasy, awareness and love in healing power, nature, and spiritual unity to surface into the consciousness of the participant/observer. Carol has become at peace with the nature around her. Her lithographs and posters hang in places from the Cairo Hilton to Big Sur. Carol’s work is sold through Joan Cawley Gallery Ltd in Scottsdale and has been featured at Art Expo in New York. Many renowned collectors stock framed Carol Grigg art because they are in great demand. Her images have gained international recognition.
