Sheila Golden (Born in 1943) was born and raised in New York. She was painting by the time she started grade school. Her background includes shows in San Francisco and New York, as well as backgrounds in film animation for Sesame Street Television. She’s been in gallery exhibits in New York City, Sarasota, San Francisco, and Santa Fe, Florida and at Buena Vista Winery in Sonoma, California where she was chosen as an artist in residence. Her passion for animals, color and nature has been reflected in her art, ranging from floral to landscapes to acrylic and to watercolor. Her art expresses her appreciation and love of the natural world and animals -- the mystery, beauty, vitality and energy. Although on the surface her work contains images of the familiar, it is also about symbols and dreams of experience as they articulate the spiritual and mysterious. Her commercial work includes background art for Sunrise Cards, KQED Television, Sesame Street, PlusMark and Hallmark. With a professional background in illustration, design, painting and animation, she uses color as a means to express the inspiration and beauty of the natural world. Her work can be seen in many galleries and museums in Taos, NM and Southwestern Florida and she has shown her original art in New York City and San Francisco. Her art is also in the collection of Whimsy in Sarasota, Florida and the Marietta Museum of Art. Today, framed Sheila Golden art hang on the walls of many buildings around the world.
