Americana artist Mark Frost’s art career spans over thirty years as an Illustrator, Advertizing Manager, and Art Director. He is a graduate of the School of Associated, St. Paul, Minnesota. His creative talents have been applied to a wide variety of products and services, including computer accessories, children's books, toys & games, sales motivation, newspapers, industrial tools, consumer products, and recognition products. Frost grew up in the small town of LeSueur in the Minnesota River Valley. This Midwest rural setting influenced and continues to influence his illustrations. Frost’s family home was a large two-storey farmhouse at the edge of the town, surrounded by bean and corn fields. Unlike many Americana artists who have focused their work around the turn of the 20th century, Frost has found his inspiration in his childhood’s time span of the 50’s and 60’s. He believes that people love Americana because it inspires their fondness for a simpler time. He says that beyond the horse and buggy era, the other period of time that gives people a nostalgic feeling is the mid-century America. Another reason why Frost likes this period is because of his lifelong love of the automobile. He says that if he can give some people a little joy when they recognize their own first car, the old family car, or a truck their Grandfather drove, then his illustration is a success. These old memories have made Frost’s art to be very popular. And that explains why framed Mark Frost art is found in hundreds of art collections and galleries allover the world.
