Art Fronckowiak (1949 - 2009) lived and was active in Florida. He’s known for floral painting and romantic landscape. With a history rich in commissioned work for private and corporate collectors, he brings a wide range of painting styles and subject matter to the contemporary canvas. His floral architectures evoke a sense of peacefulness, quietness, a place you want to walk into. However, his first love lies in the rich values of the traditional romantic landscape. Fronckowiak’s prints, posters and art reflect a special attention to the play of shadows and lights across a canvas ranging from extreme darks to bright. His technique and palette are reminiscent of an old world blend of composition, color and light similar to the classical works of the past. Fronckowiak has spent many years crafting the presence, feel and look of the early masters from the Hudson River period in the country to the European Barbizon painters. His posters, prints and art reflect that calm timelessness developed to museum quality standards and translated through the modern medium of acrylic oils. Self-taught in art, he never set out to become an artist; painting has been a part of his life from the earliest of years; from childhood drawings on wallpaper scraps. He was painting for himself with no desire to sell or show his work. With no avenue or time to a formal education in art, his painting skills developed through several hours of trial and error. But looking at the framed Art Fronckowiak art, it’s hard to believe that he’s self-taught.
