Rob Delamater (Born 1966) feels very privileged to live and have his art studio in the North of Pan Handle neighborhood of San Francisco. The spectacular clash of nature (constantly changing weather, hills, water), with urban forms (the angles of the streets, architecture) delights his eyes. Rob’s collectors Include: Orlando Diaz Azcuy Interiors, Ken Fulk Interiors, Jay Jeffers Interiors, Nate Berkus Interiors, Charlize Theron, and Tom Ford. The works of Rob are created using various forms of painting, collage and printmaking (monoprints in water-based paints hand-painted on archival paper). In 2015 he began working on much larger pieces in gouache and sometimes in a combination of common house paint and other mixed media. His work can be viewed on display in Banana Republic stores worldwide. They are also available on the film Thirteen Reasons Why, the Netflix series "Sense8", the HBO series "Looking", and "Grace and Frankie" The artist has been very impacted by the Bloomsbury Group who believed in making as much as they could themselves (textiles, furniture, fine art, ceramics) and valued the gifts of friendship which was rare in those days, especially between men and women. The framed Rob Delamater art show the influence of this group. Rob applies the combining lessons he has learnt in his printmaking practice with traditional oil painting techniques. He begins each new piece with either an idea or a sketch about colors. The ideas and colors often come from his direct experience with the real world. He’s enamored with objects, ideas, people and stories from the past.
