Marilu Datoli Hartnett (Born 1957) was born in Connecticut. He’s a graduate of Syracuse University in New York from where she received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1980. Before then, she had studied in London where she majored in Studio Art. She’s worked as a model maker for Owings and Merrill, Skidmore, in addition to producing paintings in her Brooklyn studio between installations. She’s also worked as a mount maker and an art preparator in many leading museums of New York City, such as The Guggenheim, The Whitney, The Museum of Arts and Design (the Craft Museum), The Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, and many galleries in New York City. Her work is held in private and public collections throughout the US and in Europe. She’s a great source of inspiration to many upcoming artists and even to established artists as well. Marilu has a unique style that merges reality and abstraction. She’s a great source of inspiration to many upcoming artists and even to established artists as well. She feels very fortunate that she’s able to work full time on her art. She’s exhibited in art fairs in NYC, such as The Pavilion at Art Expo and the AAF show. Marilu has been included in many shows around the country and her she’s represented by The Cheryl Hazan Gallery in NYC. Currently, framed Marilu Datoli Hartnett art sell in large numbers because of their high quality. To help improve her art, she recently studied with Susan Kae Grant and Phyllis Bramson at Anderson Ranch in Snowmass, Colorado.
