Marie-Elaine Cusson is an artist and illustrator based in Canada. She loves experimenting with different techniques while simultaneously using a variety of media including markers, acrylics, pencils and Gouache. Playing with thickness and texture of the paint, she creates images that reflect balance and harmony. Marie-Elaine studied Graphic Design and Fine Arts at Concordia University in Canada and is now a member of the Association of Graphic Designers of Quebec and the Association of Illustrateurs of Quebec. You can see her work in such fields as kitchen appliances, wall and home decor, stationery, Illustrations for stamps and books, and textile. You’ll also find some of her original art in private homes. Currently, Marie-Elaine lives in Montreal with her 3 children and husband, where a simple walk can turn vibrant garden color and a subtle architectural shape into a source of inspiration. And although she’s skilled in digital imagery, Marie-Elaine always comes back to her drawing table at the end of the day just for pure pleasure. Nature plays a central role in inspiring her and all her images are drawn or hand painted and then scanned into Photoshop and set up along with other drawings in order to achieve as many different interesting images as possible. Icons can be arranged, background colors can then be changed, and images can be cropped to fit specific needs of the client. Images can also be delivered in drop or repeat-drop. Her clients include American Media New York (book publishing), Pierre Belvedere (greeting cards), Major retail stores across North America (licensing & wall decor publishing), and Editions de Villers from Montreal (greeting cards). Framed Marie-Elaine Cusson art are highly priced by many collectors.
