Molly B. (Born 1963) is a self taught artist who was born in Greensboro, NC. Mollie produces an array of delightful high quality paintings and many fine drawings. Her subject matter has ranged from minimalist figurative works to vignettes of her childhood. She always looks at different methods of creating and presenting images so that the final products are not only unique and attractive but also inspiring. Mollie lives with her artist husband David Boatwright nearby her downtown studio.
In her quest for inspiration, she travels and reads a lot. Her goal in each of her painting is to capture a happy moment in time when a slower paced life allowed for a greater appreciation of the simple pleasures. She has created more than 100 pieces, most of which have been commissioned. Occasionally she has had the opportunity to make things that are not commissioned pieces. Molly always tries to invite viewers to step into her paintings, and share a moment of pleasure. She has been a tremendous source of inspiration to many upcoming artists in Greensboro, NC, and the whole world.
Molly studied at College of Charleston and at AS Agriculture, TTC, Charleston, SC. She has attended several solo exhibitions including Charleston City Gallery, Dwelling, Charleston, SC, Open Studio at the Karpeles Museum, Charleston, SC, and at Barneys NYC, 660 Madison Avenue, where her pieces were displayed and sold through Personal Shopping. Molly’s work method is intricate, yet simple. She likes her paintings to be well balanced with patterns, structures, and colors. Framed Molly B. art are highly priced by many collectors.
