Artist Ingrid Abery (Born in late 1960s) spent her childhood by the sea that she often photographed and painted. She was born in London but grew up in Sussex. Her artistic career began at a very young age and progressed towards sculpting and stone carving. She studied at the Bath Academy of Art. Even though she took a degree in Sculpture/ Fine Art and Photography, her love was always the sea, where she remained an active sailor and swimmer, windsurfer, water sports player, as well as a regular "hand" on classic and modern racing yachts. Her photographic inspirations include Herb Ritts, Bert Hardy, Bill Brandt and Man Ray; but her own approach to photography involves "sculpting with form and light.” She endeavors to add extra dimensions to her work by utilizing extreme lenses, angles, shape and light. Ingrid is always on the lookout for new styles or techniques and enjoys the discoveries made in each of her new painting. Her paintings symbolize a curiosity of the delicate connections of colors and shapes in the natural world. She gets fascinated by layers of transparent color that peek out beneath other layers. Ingrid collaborates with local galleries and also participates regularly in art festivals and events in London. Hundreds of framed Ingrid Abery art can be found in many private and public institutions. They can also be found with many collectors around the world. Much of her work conveys a sense of childlike simplicity and innocence. She concentrates on her technique to obtain the best prints.
