Framed Stork prints
The stork is a powerful bird with a long history and great cultural significance, making framed stork art a wonderful choice for the bird-loving art enthusiast. A wide variety of cultures have some sort of mythology or folklore associated with the stork, which is sometimes incorporated into works with storks as their subjects.
One of the most famous pieces of stork folklore in European-based cultures is the association with storks and delivering newborn babies. Many framed stork art pieces deal with this theme. The legend is centuries old but was popularized in the nineteenth century by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. Cindy Egger shows a cartoon-style stork using its beak to carry a cloth containing a baby in “Stork Boy” and “Stork Girl.” “Stork with a Baby Flying Over Moon” by Panoramic Images takes a more realistic approach to its imagery with the silhouette of a stork and a baby flying in front of a moonlit landscape.
Photography is another popular choice form framed stork wall art. Some images show the stork in its typical marshy habitat, such as “Saddle-billed Stork, Maasai Mara Wildlife Reserve, Kenya” by Jagdeep Rajput and Danita Delimont. Such images also usually feature bodies of water. Other images show the stork in flight with its wide wingspan, like “Yellow-billed Stork Flying Above a Field” by Panoramic Images.
Occasionally artists will take a more whimsical approach to their stork-themed pieces. “Stork Broker” by Will Bullas provides a play on the term “stock broker” with a stork that appears to be dressed in a business suit, with stock quotes behind the stork.
