Framed Elk Prints
One of the largest land mammals in Asia and North America and also one of the biggest representatives of the Cervidae family, elk lives mostly at the edge of forest.
FramedArt.com has a nice variety of Framed Elk Art depicting the magnificent animal, feeding on leaves, plans and also bark. The only larger relative in the deer family is the moose and both species are famous for their huge antlers.
Framed Elk Art rarely features the animal in motion, while emphasizing the sheer size of this beast and its commanding presence. While the females are less combative, the males are frequently engaging in antler wrestling, during the rut period. During this time of the year, they put their weight behind their seemingly aggressive actions, but despite their tremendous force, the ritual rarely results in the severe injury of one of the participants.
Elk don’t have too many natural enemies in the wild but they sometimes fall prey to large bears and packs of wolves, the only ones that would risk a direct fight. Framed Elk Art features elk from different countries, with this being the result of the animal being introduced in diverse habitats. They proved to be very adaptable and sometimes they are so good at transforming the environment that they become a threat to the other species they share the ecosystems with. While they have few predators to worry about, they are susceptible to many infectious diseases that threaten large populations.
