Framed Bird Egg Prints
One factor that distinguishes birds from mammals is that birds lay eggs. This often fascinates people and has inspired a lot of framed bird egg art. Sometimes the eggs themselves are the subject; other times the eggs are part of a larger context that the artist wishes to portray.
For an example of bird eggs being the sole subject of framed bird egg art images, we can look at works such as Vision Studio’s “Bird Egg Study I” and “Bird Egg Study IV.” These works juxtapose different kinds of bird eggs, highlighting their distinguishing features. The eggs can vary in size, shape, and color. It is also common for some bird eggs to have speckling. These images also vary the arrangement of the eggs within the frame to emphasize different factors.
When eggs are not the sole subject of framed bird egg art paintings, they are commonly shown with the nests they typically come from. For example, “Nesting I” by Deborah Devellier shows a nest with eggs in the center, with isolated feathers on the left and the bird producing the eggs on the right. “Antique Nest Egg I” and “Antique Nest Egg II” each show a single egg floating above a nest perched on a tree branch.
Since some bird eggs are popular food sources for humans, artwork exists to portray this as well. “Barnyard Poulty - Farm Eggs” is meant to look like an old advertisement, possibly from the 1950s, with its bold colors and rounded text. Dan Dipaolo’s “Eggs in a Row” shows chickens standing on top of the eggs in a more rustic style of image.
