Framed Volleyball Art
One of the team games preferred by women and girls is volleyball, a game that was invented a bit over one century ago. Since 1895 when the first game was played in Massachusetts, it change a lot and it is now a highly competitive sport played all over the world.
There are framed volleyball posters at FramedArt.com dedicated to the most prominent athletes, but also artwork that brilliantly captures the entertaining and mildly amusing nature of this game.
Volleyball is an indoor sport, although there are occasions when it is played outside during the summer, but not in a competitive format. Back in the day it didn’t require a great athletic effort, but nowadays it demands a lot of energy, stamina and resilience to play at the highest level. One player serves and the opposing team needs to prevent the ball from hitting the ground, with the ball bouncing back and forward until someone commits a fault. The volleyball has a special shape and texture that makes it impossible to mistake it for anything else and it is routinely depicted in framed volleyball posters.
Alfred Gockel is among the artists who created several framed volleyball posters, featuring the athletes in different stances. By far the most impressive one is the jump serve, which requires strength, precision and the ability to focus on several things at the same time. Players frequently shift between offense and defense and each player has a role to play, something emphasized in artwork.
