Those who doubted that hockey could be popular in California, were proven wrong by the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings. The latter have been the revelation of the decade, winning two Stanley cups in three seasons and won the conference titles three times.
The franchise was founded in 1966 and for the first 30 years, it was nothing to shout for, winning the division just once in 1991. Back then it was an important achievement and not surprisingly there is a plethora of Los Angeles Kings posters at FramedArt.com remembering that achievement.
Their in effectiveness during the playoffs was legendary in the 70s and the first years of the 80s, when the Kings made the postseason on several occasions. Each time they suffered an untimely elimination despite putting up a fierce fight, but they constantly consolidated their roster.
