Framed Grand Prix Posters
One century ago, automobile racing was a fledgling sport, but it quickly became one of the most popular worldwide. It all began in France and as technology made giant leaps forward, the number of participants, spectators and drivers increased sharply.
FramedArt.com has an entire collection of framed Grand Prix Posters, dedicated to several decades, going back as far as 1894. Displaying these images side-by-side will help motorsports fans put things into perspective and realize how much the sport has grown.
Motor racing changed a lot since its inception, with the early races being held on regular roads, until safety concerns had them relocated on special tracks. Formula One is arguably the most popular successor of the original Grand Prix and it is nowadays not only one of the most popular, but also a highly lucrative sport. The original framed Grand Prix Posters have a vintage look to them, with most of them being centered on events that took place many decades ago.
With the sport being invented in France, it comes as no surprise that the vast majority of framed Grand Prix Posters revolve around races that took place in the hexagon. The Grand Prix of Monaco is perhaps the most famous and the races of 1956 and 1965 are after all these years while they are regarded as the best in history. In Belgium, the United Kingdom, Spain and Italy motorsports gained a lot of traction in the 60s and 70s, attracting drivers from all over the continent.
