Framed Calgary Flames Art
Before relocating to Canada, the Atlanta Flames were not exactly the most competitive team in the NHL and failed to win a division or conference in eight years of existence.
Moving to Canada enabled them to turn things around and fans can find plenty of framed Calgary Flames posters at FramedArt.com honoring their victories at all these stages. They won the conference three times and even prevailed in the Stanley Cup once in 1999, while winning the Presidents’ Trophy twice.
They had some big shoes to fill when moving out to Calgary, as they succeeded the Tigers and Cowboys who have been playing here for six decades. Since then, they competed for the Pacific division title and the Western Conference, while also being involved in a bitter rivalry with the Edmonton Oilers. This match is commonly referred to as the Battle of Alberta and it enjoys ample coverage in framed Calgary Flames posters but also artwork dedicated to the Oilers.
Scotiabank Saddledome is the arena where they play their home games, except for the Heritage Classic match of 2011 that was played outdoors. Following their victory in the final act of the competition, the flames came painfully close of winning the Stanley Cup once again in 2004. They were defeated by Tampa Bay, yet Martin Gelinas is fondly remembered in framed Calgary Flames posters for scoring the winning goal in all three games. Other remarkable players that spend some time with the franchise are goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff and the multiple record holder Jarome Iginla, currently playing for Boston.
