Framed Celestial Art
Space has been described as ‘the final frontier’ of human exploration. While some of us are happy to sit here and wait to see what comes our way, or what already has if you believe the stories, as humans we are inherently curious and framed celestial map artwork can bring out the explorer or the scientist in us.
The truest approach is the framed celestial star chart maps that give exact accounts of the night sky and all those stars in their distant and not-so-distant galaxies. Our solar system only has one star, however in worlds away there can be more than one star in a single solar system. But to see all the stars plotted there makes you realise what a really big world it is in which we really live.
There are more detailed maps though, usually showing a small portion of the night sky. Often specific constellations such as Saint Michael and Saint Raphael for the astronomer, and then there are constellation zodiac arts for those that follow astrology, Pisces, Leo, Cancer, Libra, Taurus and so on.
However, not all celestial maps follow the stars. There are many other celestial bodies of interest in our universe and of particular interest are those in our own solar system. There are framed celestial planetary charts that plot the course of the planets around our star. But also calendars that plot the course of our star, the sun, as well as earth’s own moon.
