Framed Napoleon Art

Some of the most amazing framed Napoleon Bonaparte paintings are by Jacques-Louis David, who captured many moments and settings including the ‘Consecration of the Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte’ which included the regal crowds and church figures so ornately captured or the full body traditional portrait ‘Napoleon Bonaparte’. Another classic image is ‘Bonaparte at Mont St. Bernard’ which depicts Napoleon upon his white horse as it bucks, his cape caught in the wind.

Francois Gerard also captured these moments in his framed Napoleon artworks however his pictures are not as rich or detailed but still just as realistic but somehow smoother. This style is captured well in ‘Napoleon I – posed’, a full body portrait, Napoleons hand over his stomach, tucked in his shirt. Francois Gerard also completed another full body portrait entitled ‘Napoleon in Coronation Robes’, which as the name suggests, depicts Bonaparte in the white and red flowing coronation gowns with a staff as he would have been for the ceremony.
