Sydney Wright was born in Philadelphia, but never grew up there. His father was transferred many times as he moved from one post to another up the corporate ladder. By the time Wright was 9 years old, his family had moved seven times across the United States of America. The family finally settled in New Jersey and it has been his home since then. Wright has always loved art from an early age. When his pals were off to the toy store, his favorite hangout was the art supply shop. He would walk the aisles for hours taking in the papers, colors, and the smell of fresh paint which he loved very much. Wright went on to study design and illustration and earned a BFA from Tyler School of Art, Temple University. After graduation he landed his first job which was a designing job for Opera News magazine and then on to Ladies Home Journal where he was the art staff. Wright started freelancing as he started a family. Now that his children are grown, he spends most days with his lovable, black lab, crazy, Rielly and the smell of his paints which is wonderful. He’s thrilled to create art for the heart and home and hope his viewers will enjoy, especially those who purchase the framed Sydney Wright art which come ready to hang. He has worn many hats as an illustrator and designer and he has finally fulfilled his life time dream of having his art licensed on products such as decorative kitchen plaques, garden flags, , and wall décor, and tart burners. to name a few.
