Todd Williams Art

Todd Williams was born in Central City, Nebraska. He liked art from a young age and had many influences including impressionist Sorolla’s sea of color and Barbizon tonalism. Those he considers to be heroes in his life are Anders Zorn, Joaquin Sorolla and Nicolai Fechin. Williams recognizes that keeping in touch with others who share similar concerns and being technically proficient in his craft are very important in his work. After graduating from the Kansas City Art Institute with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting and illustration, he went on to be an in-house Senior Designer/Artist for DaySpring Cards and Hallmark Cards. Today, Williams is a professional who excels in the ability to paint all subject matter using creative virtuosity and spontaneous brushwork. His work has been exhibited across the US at invitational exhibitions and in galleries and museums such as The Maynard Dixon Museum, Montgomery Museum Of Fine Arts, the Gilcrease Museum, Settlers West Gallery, the Great Plains Art Museum, Cincinnati’s Great American Artists Exhibition, and The American Miniatures Show. Williams has won many awards including “Second Place Award” from the American Impressionist Society (2008), the Founders Award from the American Impressionist Society (2009 and 2010), and the top prize at the Plein Air Salon Competition (2012). In 2008, Williams’ work was featured in The International Artist Magazine and in 2005 he had a featured article in the Fine Art Connoisseur.
