Shari White Art

Shari White was born and grew up on the East Coast. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Parsons School of Design. Shari started training in art from a young age of only 14. That’s when she entered the High School of Art and Design in New York City. She likes to travel, and that’s where she mostly gets her inspiration. Recently she visited Northern France and Rome and interacted with many professional artists. Shari’s influence from her travels shows prominently in her posters, prints and art that are manipulated with both paint and sand paper and are heavily textured with gesso to give them a warm antiqued look with a contemporary accent. In her works, she fuses a 20th-century sensibility with the antiquities. Roman frescoes and other classics; specifically those near Pompeii are Shari’s favorites. After her graduation, Shari and David Black who was later to become her husband, moved to Los Angeles where they currently live with their two children, Bob and Sugar. The turning point in Shari’s career came in 1987. That’s when she held her first solo exhibition at the Ankrum gallery in Los Angeles. Since then, the artist has received numerous commissions in the United States and abroad, and has shown her art, prints and posters in galleries throughout the Southern California area. This has increased the publicity of the ready to hang framed Shari White art, and has made their demand to soar. Despite her success, Shari is still on the lookout for new styles and techniques to help improve her work. Her pieces of art are currently much sought after by many public and private collectors and galleries throughout the world.
