Fischer-Warnica was co-founded by Michael A. Warnica and Tanya M. Fischer. Both Fischer and Warnica have Bachelor of Fine Art Degrees. This husband and wife team began their collaborations in 1997. Tanya studied Painting at Arcadia University, and Warnica studied Illustration at the University of Arizona in Tucson. They developed an only one of its kind combination of process, and created a style suggestive of California abstract expressionism. While both Fischer and Warnica pursue their individual artistic interests and work on their own pieces, they do collaborate on a variety of ongoing works in a series. Their work has appeared in television and film such as the movie "Crash," and many other series, including "Reba", "Judging Amy", and "Desperate Housewives," Their work is in many private collections, including the Cleveland International Airport, and the headquarters of Hallmark Cards, Clairol. Their art also appear in the pages of House Beautiful and several other interior design magazines. Framed Fischer-Warnica art are found in some of the most esteemed houses in the world. The success of Fischer-Warnica is the result of both artists using their strengths and being committed to their collaboration. The collaboration works because the two have the desire to be successful, a similar artistic vision and willingness to compromise. Warnica's background in illustration is represented in his eye for detail and design, while Fischer's energetic painting quality and her knowledge of color complement Warnica's rigid, more delicate method. Their work begins with one of them initiating the process by laying down line-work, adds color and then the piece is adjusted until both agree that it is finished.
