Waltraud Fuchs von Schwarzbeck is perhaps best noted for her floral works on panel in oil, often compared to those of Jan van Huysum, Rachel Ruysch and other old masters. Her floral paintings have been published in many books and magazines. Her color plate appeared in "The Best of Flower Paintings", one of North Light Book's published in 1997. The Bradford Exchange has also featured her work on a series of limited edition porcelain plates. She was born in Bavaria, Germany into a family of artists. Waltraud was exposed to the fine arts from a young age. And it was at such a young age that she developed a deep appreciation of fine art and an eye for beauty. In her commissioned portraits, she strives for the utmost likeness of her clients in the tradition of the old masters. She received her formal art education at the National Academy of Art in Munich and majored in Lithography and Graphic Arts. Her paintings have included prominent people such as Harry S. Truman and John F. Kennedy. Her original works are represented in art galleries and private collections in Australia, Europe and North America. She has participated in many art shows including those at Walnut Street Gallery, The Gallery, at Hawthorne, Rice Gallery, International Art Expo, New York, Decor Show, Atlanta, Corporate Woods, Overland Park, Powell Street Gallery, San Francisco, and American Artists Professional League, among others. Due to her unique style, framed Waltraud Fuchs von Schwarzbeck art are very easy to recognize among the works of other artists.
